Why did Trump’s “annulment” of the Constitution, demanding reinstatement or reorganization, raise alarms?

Billions of words have been devoted to analyzing, criticizing, demonizing and blaming Donald Trump.

In newspapers, magazines and books, on television and on social media, unnamed counselors offer a barometer of his moods and methods, sometimes expressing their own frustration with what he has done or refused to do.

Yet, despite all the research into what’s going on behind the scenes, it’s Trump’s own words – on display, in the open, in daylight – that cause the biggest problems.

On cable news yesterday, there were lots of banners about something that exploded over the weekend: “TRUMP CALLS TO TERMINATE THE CONSTITUTION.”

When I first saw similar headlines online, I assumed this must have been a liberal spin, something taken out of context to make this accusation.

Oh no. That’s what she shared on Truth Social.

With today’s Georgia Senate runoff, do you think Republicans want to talk about that?

The impetus for Trump’s request was the Twitter Files Elon Musk released via journalist Matt Taibbi after the social media site covered up the Hunter Biden laptop story at the end of the 2020 campaign. The files show Twitter executives scrambling to find a reason for the blockade and discussing whether “hacked material” could be an excuse. (The laptop wasn’t hacked, what the New York Post got was a hard drive that the Democratic candidate’s son had left at a Delaware repair shop, though that wasn’t clear at the time.)

The files also show that Twitter acted on its own, not in response to a request from the Biden campaign, which later asked that tweets containing pornographic images of Hunter Biden be removed. And while an official at the liberal company raised the possibility that Trump might be elected, Taibbi openly said there was no evidence of government interference.

Yet Trump used it to further his two-year crusade to show without proof that the election was stolen from him.

Here is the entire article:

“So, with the exposure of GREAT & PERFECT FRAUD AND DECEPTION in close collaboration with Big Tech, DNC, and the Democratic Party, are you going to MAKE the 2020 Presidential Election Results Legitimate or declare a NEW ELECTION? Allows the termination of all rules, regulations, and clauses, including even those found in. Our great ‘Founders’ did not want and will not condone Wrong and Fraudulent Elections!”

But they also ratified a Constitution that did not include provisions such as impeaching or removing an incumbent president in favor of his predecessor.

Trump did not gloss over or imply; he openly said “the repeal of all rules, regulations and articles, including those contained in the Constitution”.

This is not a leak from a meeting or liberals saying the former president has no respect for the Constitution. These are Trump’s own words.

Republicans on the Sunday programs were under pressure on this issue and tried to deflect it, hoping it would end. With his strong dominance at the MAGA base, they are clearly afraid that Trump will turn their back on them.

A striking number of top Republican lawmakers criticized Trump for meeting with the Hitler-loving Kanye West, rather than giving the impression that they were afraid to shout out anti-Semitism. But the initial reaction to the recent controversy seems to be, “Well, Donald Trump is saying a lot.”

I’ve been reporting on Trump for 35 years and I don’t believe he is anti-Semitic; The question is why he gave a forum to someone who loved the Nazis and continued to defame the Jews. I also like the Constitution a lot.

I constantly get criticism from Trump supporters who think I’m doing my best to crush him. The truth is, the front-runner for the GOP nomination by any objective standard has had a few gruesome weeks.

The Supreme Court, including three of his appointees, voted unanimously against, ordering that tax returns be submitted to a House committee. An appeals court panel, including his appointment, stopped the special master appointed by a Trump-friendly judge in Florida who slowed the Justice Department investigation and had nothing to do with the case.

Ever “this time Trump is doomed!” camp. When the media turns everything up to 11, it can be difficult to distinguish a short wing from a serious emergency. Bob Mueller and he survived two charges.

But in his own words on social media, Trump has reassured those who have long argued that he doesn’t care about our nearly 250-year-old governing document. After all, he took an inaugural oath “to protect, preserve, and defend the United States Constitution.”
