urb unveils plans for dubai’s new ecotourism monument
To consolidate its position as one of the leading tourism destinations in the world, Dubai preparing to transform the desert landscape to host a giant eco-friendly agritourism monument. Suggested by architectural practice URB, Agri Hub will be powered entirely by renewable energy, weaving retail, commercial, educational and entertainment facilities in a serpentine metallic form that integrates with its natural context.
The project is driven by the emirate’s broader initiative to position itself as a global benchmark for rural ecotourism. Promoting a green economy and supporting the sustainability of local communities, heritage and cultural landscape, Agri Hub will improve the lives of farmers while enriching the environment and local culture.

Inviting tourists to an educational and recreational experience in the heart of the desert, URB’s Center of Pain will feature a nature and heritage conservation centre, ecotourism and restorative wellness facilities, as well as an Agri-tech institute that creates a collaborative research and innovation ecosystem. In total, more than 10,000 new jobs will be created in various sectors, promoting a green economy and improving their quality of life for local rural farming residents.
In its design and typology, the monumental building adorned with an elegant geometric design gives visitors the feeling of being in nature both inside and outside. Wandering through Dubai’s lush palm trees and farmland, design team continues to integrate natural elements into the interior as well.

The Ağrı Center will act as a blueprint for the decarbonised rural destination of the future, starting to offset embodied carbon emissions from construction and operation. Other environmental features will include 100% renewable energy and water recycling systems, biosaline farming, green transition systems and zero waste management on site.
