tomaso P900 hypercar in aspirated V12
De Tomaso Automobili, car concept The P900 (named after its total dry weight) is a naturally aspirated V12 hypercar limited to 18 units worldwide. It was designed by Jowyn Wong, the man behind Apollo IE and De Tomaso P72, car design The entire two-seater P900 bears De Tomaso’s signature with its sharp lines, sharp corners and race-oriented exterior and interior design.
Wong shares that the design team took the time to transform the visual sequences of the P72 into the performance-focused P900. “We think the result is a car that is clearly aggressive in nature yet still romantic, evoking the emotions of the Le Mans Prototypes of the ’60s or ’70s while retaining a distinctive design language.” he adds in the newsletter.

The automaker’s lips were sealed about the P900’s full performance figures and details. Indicates that this information is only available to selected individuals, including owners.
Unlike its predecessor, the P72, the De Tomaso P900 has been completely redesigned with an all-carbon chassis system. Its stressed engine helps the P900 gain nearly 900 pounds of weight, with a projected 900 horsepower figure. De Tomaso also highlights that the car’s aerodynamics have been finely tuned by a Formula-1 racing team, which leaves ample room for the design team to play with the exterior.
While De Tomaso acknowledges the future of electric vehicle technology, they focus on creating long-lasting, aspirated, internal combustion engines. To companies that electrified their cars, their response was not to turn the De Tomaso P900 into an electric car, but to give it a 12-cylinder platform that can only run on synthetic fuel.
De Tomaso CEO Norman Choi said in a news release that the company believes alternatives exist, but the development of its new platform powered by synthetic fuels is the solution to keeping its passion for internal combustion engines alive. “This initiative on synthetic fuels represents our commitment to the pursuit of a zero-emissions mobility future without compromising the vital element that we all value so much – the spirit and symphony of an engine.” it adds.
De Tomaso Automobili has brought together a group of leading motorsport experts from Formula 1, endurance racing and aerodynamic development. The De Tomaso P900 will launch in the second quarter of 2023, and the auto company will continue to develop the vehicle’s drivetrain until late 2024.
