Portia is the worried, fresh out of college assistant to fan favorite Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) and accompanies her on a romantic Sicilian getaway. Portia’s situation doesn’t sound like a bad trap, but it’s white lotusso things immediately go bad for him and it gets worse as “he is kidnapped and the boss dies”.

Every week, fans of the show gather on Twitter and TikTok to toast Portia’s extremely loud and incredibly uncoordinated outfits, but she sure dresses like someone who spends a lot of time on their website. Maybe her haphazard alignments of Instagram favorite brands like House of Sunny and thrift pieces that don’t fit were a little too nosey. She’s had a pretty eventful trip, and maybe now that she’s had to leave her suitcase, she can break free from an algorithmically dictated fashion sense.
As a Gen Z who have made some questionable Depop purchases, I’m a Portia advocate. He just wants someone “totally oblivious to the rhetoric” and misses a time when “the world had more” while simultaneously being addicted to his phone. (I’m sure none of us can understand that!) Let the girl wear a silly little outfit, when if not in Sicily?
During her stay at The White Lotus, Portia wore many stunning suits, and I’m here to sort them all out. Their fit will be ranked by three criteria: if there is any coordinating look, how the pieces fit into it, and how iconic the look is. I will also keep track of the number of white shoes Portia took with her on her trip.

16. Flop compliance
There is a golf game at 8 o’clock but there is a Safari at 9 o’clock and you don’t know your size.

Easily the most confusing part of Portia’s bouts is this oversized but cropped Tommy Hilfiger rugby shirt with baggy forest green linen pants (both gathered at the waist) that Portia wore in episode 4. crocheted bucket hat and her signature thick white sandals. The rugby shirt is one of the most bizarrely cut pieces of clothing I’ve ever seen, and it’s definitely second-hand stuff I should have hoped looked deceptively cute on the internet. Portia wore this eye-catcher when she officially met Tanya and Quentin (Tom Hollander) – a bad outfit for bad vibes!

15. “No Problem” crewneck

While Portia stays out of sight at the White Lotus, she comes to breakfast at Tanya’s request in a purple acid-washed crewneck sweatshirt with “No Problemo” written on it. Somehow, every detail about that sweatpants gets worse and worse from the last one, who asks him what prompted him to buy it. He wore dark wash denim shorts, white Air Force Ones, crew socks, and a hooded sweatshirt with a yellow hair elastic.

14. Diver mini dress

Welcome to the section of this list that I like to call “the increasingly ugly dresses that Portia wears for some reason with white sneakers and crew socks.” While dining alone in episode 1, Portia wears a flashy, collared, trippy-print mini dress with a thick black zipper down the front that looks like it belonged to a wetsuit. As if the dress wasn’t a monstrosity on its own, she wore it with raised, white, high-top Converse sneakers and, of course, hairpins.

13. Pink gingham sundress

For dinner with Albie in episode 2, Portia wears a pink and white gingham sundress for a middle school dance. Without the weird details, Portia wouldn’t have a dress in her wardrobe, and it has a daisy chain around the waist. She’s exaggerating with jewelry and wearing her lifted Converse once again.

Portia’s dinner outfit in episode 3 reveals minimalism. She wears a trendy purple and yellow crochet dress and, in true Portia fashion, ruins the dress by tying a hideous printed shirt around her waist and pairing it with her trusty Converse. The combination of textures and patterns is a crime against crocheters everywhere.
11. The least ugly of the dress and sneakers genre

Portia’s “We’re going to Palermo with Jack and the gays” dress gives off an early 2000s romantic comedy vibe. The orange dress has lots of fun textures and is unusually flattering. Unfortunately, Portia absorbs the charm of the suit with the Air Force Ones. With this dress, we get a sense of how much Portia took with her on the trip – she brought a large pink trolley bag, a small black sports jacket and her trusty backpack for her two-night stay in Palermo. Frankly, she’s having a hard time deciding!
10. Godfather shirt

For breakfast at Quentin’s palazzo, Portia wears a black, oversized dress. Godfather in his shirt, his goddamn forest green linen pants, thick white sandals and hairpins. The shirt is probably a keepsake Portia bought on it. this Godfather Di Grasso tour with the kids. One of the few mediocre breakfast bouts, but Portia has just woken up, so let me give her some indulgence.
9. The period of the hypobeast

This outfit is a moment in episode 3 that you might miss in the blink of an eye. To her second breakfast with Albie and company, she wears a black shirt unbuttoned with black pants and a green and orange plaid check. . The shirt might be the worst piece of clothing she’s worn all season and looks like something a gas station attendant could own. It would have suited Jack of Essex better.
8. Breakfast with a view

Another breakfast, another novelty t-shirt and trousers. Looks like Portia got bored with some shopping because this tee has Italian race cars. ‘fit’ ranks higher this morning because of fun purple sweatpants with brown and green stripes on the sides. The shirt and pants obviously don’t match and the camera never gets up, so it’s hard to say what the exact look entails.
7. The notorious blue skirt
The perfect Gen Z look from Albie and Portia.

This outfit and the next are cute outfits I’ve probably worn, and if anything, they’re a little boring for our girl. To go for a ride with Albie and her family, Portia wears a light green short polo and a multicolored, patterned blue skirt. She pairs it with sunglasses and sandals, and when it fits just right, she looks like an average 20-something grabbing an iced latte in a coastal city.
6. Simple but effective
Portia proves she can dress normally.

For her second debut with Di Grassos, Portia wears high-waisted denim shorts and her favorite sandals in a dense, shiny tank top that covers the face of a cartoon woman. It’s a pretty simple summer outfit and it almost made me miss the fuss of her other looks.
5. His “cute things”

Portia’s look for her night in Palermo is by far the most matching outfit on the show. To the dismay of her haters, she absolutely escalates to Tanya’s demand to “bring cute things” from her. She wears a small blue tube top with matching sticky bell bottoms covered in a psychedelic pattern, which she pairs with white platform boots. Her hair is gathered in space buns with dozens of bright blue hairpins and you must appreciate her dedication. The most Portia feature about her outfit is the long, beaded phone chain instead of a purse.

4. House of Sunny smoke show

Portia looks ready to impress in a purple and green House of Sunny dress for her first dinner with Jack and the gays. HE finally she pairs a strappy white heeled dress and reveals all the stops in her makeup. She looks so good that she even successfully pulls off her thick necklaces and shark tooth earrings.

3. Swan sweater vest

Portia starts off strong in a House of Sunny sweater that pairs perfectly with her lime green nails and beige sunglasses. The outfit gives the viewer an idea of Portia’s random style and how much time she spends on TikTok. As with most holidays, Portia’s first outfit is one of her best.
2. Beach cardigan rag

No beach match is complete without a whimsical little cardigan! All of Portia’s quirks come together for the perfect outfit in episode 4. She showed up to Quentin’s beach party in white mommy shorts, a zebra-print bikini top, and a cool, weird shrug. The brightly colored stripes of the sweater contrast perfectly with the zebra print. This is exactly what Portia was trying to achieve with all her other misfits, but this time? Honey, it works.
1. She’s a boss girl!

Yes, this outfit is kind of gross. The pink and purple two-tone baby t-shirt definitely doesn’t match the Blue Skirt, and the beige sweatshirt tied around the waist doesn’t help the look at all, but this is the outfit she wore while escaping Sicily! We must respect the decision to deal with trauma by tying a headscarf around a baseball cap. Somewhat iconic.
We hope to see more of Portia’s clashing outfits in a future season. White Lotus … Maybe she’s on her honeymoon with Albie?!
