MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell Says He Won’t Get Salary As Head of RNC

  • Mike Lindell says he will not receive a salary from the Republican National Committee if he is elected president.
  • Lindell said he plans to return his entire paycheck to the organization.
  • Lindell told Insider that he has received support in at least six states for his candidacy for president of the RNC.

Mike Lindell, CEO of MyPillow, said he would not receive a salary from the Republican National Committee if elected chairman.

Lindell commented on Monday broadcasting Frank Speech detailed it on his platform and in an interview with Insider Monday night.

“But I wouldn’t get a paycheck from RNC, I would put all the money back into it,” Lindell told Insider on Monday. “If I’m managing, the money going to him will actually get better.”

While Lindell isn’t sure how much the RNC president earns, he added that it should be a lucrative business.

“I don’t know how much they get paid, but I guess it’s quite a lot. Why would someone like Ronna McDaniel want to be re-elected?” he said, referring to his rival and the current RNC president. McDaniel representatives did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment on Lindell’s remarks and how much he was making as head of the RNC.

Lindell also told Insider that he’s been communicating with every delegate at the RNC since he announced his candidacy last week. She says she has the support of representatives from six states and is trying to get more support.

“I believe I can run the RNC and solve its problems, and it won’t take years and years,” said Lindell.

Lindell also touted her own business record running MyPillow, saying she’s faced “rather adverse circumstances” over the past few years, but is “knowledgeable about how to run a company.”

“And ‘Well, Mike, why don’t you have the skills to do that?’ Yes, I guess so,” Lindell told Insider.

In June, Walmart, MyPillow’s largest distributor, pulled Lindell’s products from its shelves. Other retailers have also distanced themselves from Lindell. In April 2021, Costco withdrew MyPillow’s products, including Bed Bath & Beyond, QVC, JCPenney, and Wayfair. And in September, even Lindell’s e-commerce platform MyStore saw sellers give up after the pillow CEO’s phone was seized by the FBI.

Last week, Lindell blamed McDaniel for the Republicans’ poor electoral record.

“Let’s look at Ronna’s report card. 2018: F, 2020: F, 2022: F. and shouldn’t,” Lindell said in an interview Wednesday.

McDaniel, president of the RNC since 2017, was endorsed by the majority of the voting members of the RNC. The pro-McDaniel bloc has 101 voting members who have signed a letter confirming his reelection, The Hill reports.

The results of the RNC elections will be announced at the committee’s winter meeting in January 2023.
