Lenovo’s latest WFH-friendly ThinkVision VoIP monitors come with their own integrated webcam

It doesn’t have the iMac’s Center Stage yet, but it’s getting there…

Is it just me or is it weird that desktop monitors don’t come with built-in webcams? I mean, how hard is it to put one in there?! It seems like the folks at Lenovo were asking themselves the same thing before they designed their latest ‘ThinkVision VoIP Monitors’. Built for the modern workforce, these displays are perfectly optimized for the virtual workplace. They come in 3 variants ranging in size from 23.6 inches to 27 inches and an IPS display with a 75 Hz refresh rate. Depending on the screen size you choose, you’ll be considered a 1080p panel or a 1440p panel, but the display sits right above the ThinkVision VoIP Monitor, not the most impressive feature…

Designer: Lenovo

The top bezel is covered by a camera module that converts the display into a teleconferencing unit that works directly with any laptop or desktop setup. While the module has a 5MP camera with infrared (IR) lens plus a separate RGB lens and privacy cover, the ThinkVision VoIP Monitor also includes built-in dual microphones with environmental noise cancellation and two integrated 5W speakers that provide a seamless teleconferencing experience. In fact, ThinkVision VoIP Monitors are so focused on making video calling and virtual collaboration effortless that the displays also come with a dedicated Microsoft Teams button, as well as volume controls and a mute feature directly for your built-in microphone. The design of the monitor as a hardware detail.

Lenovo takes the phrase “built for the modern workforce” very seriously, as each monitor also features a “traffic light”, a “sit” reminder, which turns red when the user searches and alerts people around that they’re busy. a distance alert that warns them when they spend too much time in front of the screen and tells them to back off if they sit too close to the monitor! “These next-generation ThinkVision VoIP monitors also include human detection and light sensors for automatic screen adjustments and are among the first devices to receive Eyesafe® Certification 2.0 with natural low blue light technology,” Lenovo says. Each monitor is finally capped with a built-in hook for hanging headphones and a notch at their base for vertically placing a smartphone.
