Hyman, Draisaitl and McDavid beat the Oilers over the Predators

Zach Hyman scored a hat-trick, Leon Draisaitl scored two goals and added three assists, and Connor McDavid led the Edmonton Oilers to a 6-3 win over the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night with one goal and three assists.

Jack Campbell made 29 saves for Edmonton and was the winner of three quarters. Tyson Barrie also has two assists.

Cody Glass, Ryan Johansen and Dante Fabbro scored and Kevin Lankinen made 31 saves for Nashville, losing four in a row. Roman Josi has two assists.

Edmonton have won their last 10 games against Nashville 9-0-1.

Glass scored in 1:15 of the opening period on the first shot of the game, but the Oilers came back with a Draisaitl power play goal with three seconds to finish first, two from Hyman, and then five seconds to the end of the period.

In the second, Johansen and Draisaitl traded goals 57 seconds apart early in the frame. Fabbro scored his first goal of the season in the middle of the second, but McDavid was tied for power play with 1:05 to reclaim Edmonton’s two-goal lead.

McDavid scored in 10 games in a row, scored 10 goals and added 14 assists during his winning streak. He has three four-pointers in his last six games.

Hyman finished his hat-trick in third place with 2:37 remaining. The hat trick was the first of Hyman’s career.

With two assists, Josi came one point close to the Nashville franchise record. Josi’s 565 career points place him just one behind David Legwand.

Tuesday was the 787th career game for Nashville’s captain. Legwand, Nashville’s first draft pick when the team entered the NHL in 1998, played 956 games for the Predators.

Edmonton entered with the NHL’s highest power play on Tuesday, reaching 30.2 percent. Including a 2v2 effort against Nashville, the Oilers have scored seven goals in 15 chances in the last four games.

Nashville, on the other hand, entered the 32-team league on Tuesday 29th with a 16 percent success in power play. The Predators were empty in five chances against the Oilers, including a two-man advantage of 43 seconds in the second period.

Nashville have not won a power play in their last four games and have gone 0-15 in that range.

Draisaitl dominated the Predators in his career. Tuesday was his 22nd game against Nashville. After two goals and three assists in the Edmonton win, Draisaitl had 22 goals and 13 assists against the Predators. Draisaitl has three goals and seven assists in his two games against Nashville this season.
