A Home Depot staff member in Tennessee was recently able to locate a customer who had lost a large amount of cash that he reportedly planned to use to buy Christmas gifts for his children.
Alissa Rocchi, an operations assistant and store manager at Home Depot in Bellevue, told Fox News Digital that she and her colleagues wanted to “do the right thing” after finding $700 in an envelope that fell on the floor of the 22nd aisle last month. .
Adam Adkisson, a Rocchi employee, noticed a bank envelope lying on the floor as he was wandering around his department at the store, Rocchi said.

At the time of discovery, Rocchi was attending a meeting, so Adkisson contacted another manager who put the money in a safe place. That executive later alerted the broader leadership team, Rocchi said.

Working the closing shift, Rocchi noticed that the unclaimed envelope was still in a safe place.

“If you’ve lost something, you’ll be right back. [to find it]Rocchi said of the envelope’s owner: “When they didn’t step back, I said, ‘Dude, they didn’t even think he was here.'”
Trying to find out who the envelope belonged to, Rocchi came up with a plan.
He said he made a post on a Facebook community page called Hip Bellevue to spread the word.

Rocchi shared the following announcement with members of the Hip Bellevue Facebook group:
“A huge amount of cash was found in a bank envelope at Home Depot – Highway 70S. You must answer questions. To file a claim, please contact any manager at Home Depot.”
The envelope, he said, has three determining factors that will help Rocchi determine who owns the money. The envelope was from Renasant Bank, with a certain dollar amount inside, and the initials “JC” on the back.
A few hours after sharing his post on his Facebook group, Rocchi received a promising response from a man named Mark.
According to Rocchi, Mark stepped forward, saying that the money belonged to the business partner he paid for earlier that day.

Rocchi said that Mark’s partner, whose initials were JC, was looking for the envelope full of cash, and he never thought it could be found at Home Depot.

According to Rocchi, Mark told Rocchi that his business partner used the money for their children’s Christmas gifts.
Rocchi said the owner of the money received the envelope the next day and later returned to thank Adkisson in person.
“I never thought we would have it for sure in a million years. [the money to its owner]…it’s really cool to see how a platform really works,” Rocchi shared.

Rocchi said people asked him what prompted him to look for the real owner of the money.

“Doing the right thing really adds positivity to the world,” he added. “The more positivity and kindness we can bring into the world, the more I am a part of it.”
