Multiple top back runs seem to be going in opposite directions this week. With the next fantasy games, the best players should start, while some weaker teams hope to fill their gaps with reserve backs. Here’s a look at the running back with injury news at Week 13:
Joe MixonCincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati expects Mixon to play against the Chiefs. He left Week 11 with a concussion and cost him his next game against the Titans. His touches should reflect his previous opportunity.
Travis EtienneJacksonville Jaguars
A foot problem sent Etienne to the locker room after five snaps against the Ravens. The Jaguars stated that he was allowed to return but decided to act prudently by resting him for the remainder of the game. He has his first game against the Lions this week and Jacksonville should have Etienne in their starting lineup on Sunday.
Josh JacobsLas Vegas Raiders
Going into last Sunday, Jacobs has drawn a tag of dubious lateness, causing fantasy executives to be concerned about his role against the Seahawks. He finished a season and career on high touches (39) and led to a great all-time show (303 combined yards with two goals and six catches). Unfortunately, Jacobs was eventually pulled out of the game with a calf issue that may have been insignificant. I listed it from Week 13.
Michael CarterNew York Jets
An ankle injury against the Bears in the second half caused Carter to shower early in Week 12. His problem may be minor, but I left it on the first run of the projections.
Christian McCaffreySan Francisco 49ers
The 49ers’ backcourt could be messy this week after losing 6-8 weeks to Elijah Mitchell. McCaffrey struggles with a knee issue that invites a second into San Francisco’s rotation. While I was leaning more towards Deebo Samuel in the 49ers running game, I also realized that one of the other three fullbacks could see some touch ups. As a result, McCaffrey’s status by the end of the week determines the potential value of multiple players.
Pittsburgh Steelers backcourt
The job to start running back for Pittsburgh can come from more than one player in Week 13. Based on last week’s training reports, I listed Jaylen Warren against the Falcons. However, I feel Najee Harris could fit, so I rate her as someone who starts with a slight backlash in the touches. I hope to see a different look by Sunday.
Leonard FournetteTampa Bay Pirates
I don’t expect Fournette to play this week. If he can train, he will be upgraded within the week.
