Apple today rolled out an updated Apple Music Replay experience for 2022 and showcased a new “highlight reel” feature.

The overhauled experience, which began to be noticed by “Apple Music” subscribers on Twitter earlier today, puts the new highlight reel feature at the forefront of the Replay webpage, where users are encouraged to engage before delving into further details.

The highlight reel offers a series of social media-style animated cards showing musical highlights from the past year, based on your listening history. The corresponding music for each card plays in the background. The highlight reel is viewable in desktop browsers, but appears to be designed primarily for mobile screens.

After the highlights reel, users can scroll down to see the highlights, which include more informative breakdowns of last year’s top albums and playlists. Users can add their ‌Apple Music‌ Replay 2022 playlists to the Music app at the bottom of the page.

The move brings the experience a little closer to Spotify Wrapped, but ‌Apple Music‌ Replay remains a web browser-only experience. The music app itself, once added via the Replay webpage, can only show and play a basic playlist of your best songs from the year, sorted by most played.

To view your 2022 ‌Apple Music‌ Replay experience and try new highlights, visit: replay.music.apple.com.
